Since March of 2009, Abdul Ali has been producer and host of Poet’s Corner. Poet’s Corner is a gathering place for artists of all kinds–wordsmiths, actors, musicans, and art enthusiasts. This is a meeting of tribes, where we discuss all sorts of things from inspiration for art, influences, to how to stay motivated through dry patches of non-creativity. Most of all, we aim to showcase artists and topics that are of interest to our community of listeners.
Poet’s Corner airs once a month, every fourth Monday, 7:00-8:00 pm EST. It is our goal to provide fresh, stimulating guests and topics to give our listeners something to think about. Past guests have included, a group of high student poets “Poetic 8″ from PG County, Elizabeth Alexander, Sana Butler, A.B. Spellman, Carolyn Joyner, E. Ethelbert Miller, R. Dwayne Betts, Taylor Johnson, Adam Pellegrini, and Holly Bass. . .
We rely a great deal on feedback and hope that you will drop a line from time to time at abdulali@wpfw.org to let us know how we’re doing.
